BALTIMORE (November 8, 2007) – Provident Bank opened its newest branch in Baltimore City on Friday, November 16th, 2007. The branch is located inside the Shoppers Food and Pharmacy at 2000 Gwynns Falls Parkway. As the largest independent commercial bank headquartered in Maryland, Provident is proud to support continued business growth in Baltimore City. The opening now brings Provident’s total number of branches in Maryland to 100. The branch, located near Mondawmin Mall, is managed by Candace McCollin. “Provident’s roots in Baltimore date back almost 122 years, said McCollin. The opening of this new branch signals our commitment to the City and its revitalization. Our employees are already involved in the community through sponsorships and volunteer activities and we are eager to serve our customers in a place that we already call home.” Provident was one of the first banks in Maryland to open branches in supermarkets back in 1993. The convenience factor adds up to extended hours of operation that suit a customer’s busy lifestyle.
