Baltimore — Provident Bank announces the promotion of Robin K. Toomey to Senior Vice President, Division Head, of its Metro Washington Commercial Banking Division. Toomey will be responsible for managing the commercial banking units in the Greater Washington region and will focus on facilitating Provident’s aggressive growth plan for the region.
Toomey has more than 21 years of commercial credit and sales experience. Before being promoted to her current position, she served as the Montgomery County Commercial Unit Manager and was formerly a Commercial Relationship Manager. Prior to joining Provident in April 1998, she was a Commercial Unit Manager at Crestar Bank in Bethesda, MD. Previously employed as a Vice President of Commercial Banking at Maryland National Bank in Rockville, Toomey began her banking career as a Credit Analyst with Suburban Bank in Bethesda.
"In Robin's seven-year tenure with Provident, she has driven solid financial results and built strong customer relationships while leading the Montgomery Commercial Banking team," said Commercial Group Manager, Hugh Newton.Toomey, who is also on the Board of Directors of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, said that she "hoped to significantly expand Provident’s market share of commercial business in the Greater Washington region" and was "excited about the opportunity to be involved in the dynamic growth of the Northern Virginia market.
Toomey obtained her B.S. in Accounting from St. Francis University in Loretto, PA. Originally from Altoona, PA, she now resides in Kensington, MD.
