Baltimore, November 7, 2005 — Provident Bank announces the promotion of W. Eric Magwood to Vice President within its Small Business Banking Division. Magwood, who will serve as a relationship manager primarily responsible for business development, will work out of Provident’s Regional Headquarters in Tyson's Corner, Va.
Magwood has more than 14 years of applicable banking experience and originally joined Provident in July 2005. He was previously employed as a Business Banking Officer at United Bank in Tyson’s Corner, and also worked as a Settlement Officer for Chevy Chase Bank in Bethesda, MD. He began his banking career with Eastern Savings Bank in Hunt Valley, MD.

Magwood, who majored in Psychology, attended the University of Maryland at Baltimore County and the University of Virginia School of Bank Management. He holds a certificate from the Cox Graduate Commercial Lending School in Dallas, TX. Originally from Baltimore, he currently resides in Washington, D.C.
