PROVIDENT BANK WELCOMES RAYMOND GOODRICH

Baltimore, November 22, 2004 — Provident Bank welcomes Raymond Goodrich as Vice President in the bank’s Consumer/Small Business Division. Goodrich will operate out of the organization’s Tyson’s Corner, VA office.

Goodrich has more than 20 years of banking experience and will be primarily responsible for managing sales for Provident’s growing Virginia market. Prior to accepting this position, he served as Group Vice President for Riggs Bank in Riverdale, MD. Formerly, he was employed by M&T Bank as Senior Vice President and also worked for BB&T, formerly First Virginia Bank, in Falls Church, VA.

In his new role, Goodrich will be expected to attract new business, and retain and expand existing customer relationships. He’s excited about "building a sales team and contributing to the division’s profitability."

Goodrich, who is also a graduate of the University of San Diego, grew up in Europe. He currently resides in Alexandria, VA.
