The Family Tree and Provident BankProvident announces partnership with The Family Tree

Provident Bank is proud to announce an exciting partnership with The Family Tree, Maryland’s leading nonprofit dedicated to preventing child abuse. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and a special time to celebrate Maryland’s strong families. It also allows the Bank to demonstrate our commitment to the health, well being and economic stability of all families and communities of Maryland.  We are funding an exciting public engagement effort – Mealtime – The Great Family Time, designed to raise awareness about the benefits for children when families have regular meals together. For the past three years, the Bank has supported The Family Tree’s major fundraising event The Great Chefs’ dinner, serving as Presenting Sponsor.  This year, we are increasing our involvement with CEO Gary and Lesley Geisel serving as co-chairs for the event.

Know the Facts:
The family that eats together stays together.  Children who eat regular meals with their family:

  • Are 20% less likely to drink, smoke or use illegal drugs
  • Are 40% more likely to get mostly A’s And B’s in school
  • Have a lower risk of depression, suicide, eating disorders and obesity

Be Part of the Solution:

  • Plan your family meal today.
  • Look for healthy family recipes on posters inside our branches
  • If you know a family who needs help, please have them call The Family Tree’s Family Stressline at 1-800-243-7337.
  • Volunteer.  For volunteer opportunities visit The Family Tree’s website at www.familytreemd.org.
